Founded in 2022, Votto is a Canadian startup company that combines artificial intelligence and big data for acoustic signal modeling.

Currently, Votto is testing a prototype pickup system called "Vibertone - Pure." This paradigmatic pickup system can capture authentic signal from almost all vibrating instruments. The system comprises piezoelectric ceramic pickups, vacuum tubes, transistor preamps, and hardware effects processors. The pickup system principle involves directly capturing the instrument's vibrations using piezoelectric ceramics, ensuring the most "pure" and "clean" instrument sound.

Compared to traditional microphone pickups, Pure offers several advantages:

• The collected signal is the original signal from the instrument's point of origin, whereas microphones collect signals filtered through the "air." Consequently, Pure's signal is more malleable and retains more of the original acoustic vibration characteristics.

• Building on the previous point, Pure's signal is better suited for effect rendering (reverb, harmonics, distortion, compression, etc.).

• Due to its different working principle, Pure is more suitable for live performances than microphones. It fundamentally overcomes issues associated with microphones, such as feedback, cumbersome position adjustments, and interference from other instruments during large ensemble or band performances. Additionally, Pure supports various performance formats, including outdoor performances in noisy environments.

• Pure expands the definition of traditional acoustic instruments, making speakers, effects processors, hardware preamps, and AI-driven black-box preamps integral parts of the instrument.
